In honor of National Social WorkMonth, we would like to share a bit about the social workers that help our residents call Villa St. Francis home.
Nicole Back, our on-staff social worker at Villa St. Francis, received her bachelor’s degree from UWM. Roberta Hanus, a Clinical Associate Professor at UWM, acted as Nicole’s field liaison, and offered the idea of serving seniors through social work to Nicole. Nicole has always held the idea of working with the elderly in high regard, and very much enjoys working with residents at Villa St. Francis.
Ten years later, Kelly Hagerty, who attends UWM, now works with Roberta as her field liaison. Roberta steered Kelly toward Nicole and Villa St. Francis to complete her field work. Kelly initially wanted to pursue a degree in education; however, she decided she’d prefer a career working with many different types of people, particularly older adults. Kelly has recently been accepted to the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at UWM to pursue a master’s degree. Congratulations, Kelly!
